Creating a Twilio Compliance Profile (Trust Hub)
Trust Hub is Twilio's identity-verification system — it's where you tell Twilio (and eventually carriers) who your business actually is. It's the first real prerequisite for A2P 10DLC registration.
What Trust Hub is and why it's required
Before Twilio will let you register an A2P Brand, it needs a verified record of your business identity on file — legal name, tax ID, address, and a real person who can be held accountable for how the number is used. That record is a Trust Hub Customer Profile (Twilio's UI now calls it a "Compliance Profile"). Without an approved one, brand registration can't proceed at all.
Where to find it
In the console's left sidebar: Products and services → Trust Hub → Profiles. From there you can create a new Customer Profile, or view/edit an existing one.
If you're setting up through Linxi instead of the raw Twilio Console, Linxi Settings → Number Setup → Compliance Profile builds this for you and submits it via the API directly — you won't need to click through the console UI at all.
Individual vs. Business
Twilio splits this into two paths. Individual (Sole Proprietor) is for personal use with no EIN — a simpler, separate registration flow. Business is for anything with a real legal entity behind it (LLC, Inc., partnership, etc.) and requires an EIN. Linxi's in-app Compliance Profile wizard currently only builds Business profiles; Sole Proprietor registration still needs to be done directly in the Twilio Console.
Business profile fields — which ones actually cause rejections
| Field | What it needs to match |
|---|---|
| Legal business name | Your IRS EIN confirmation letter (CP 575 / 147C), exactly — including punctuation |
| EIN | XX-XXXXXXX format, with the dash |
| Industry / company type | Twilio's fixed dropdown values (Corporation, LLC, Partnership, etc.) — not free text |
| Business address | Should match what's on file with the IRS/state where possible |
| Website URL | A live, publicly-reachable site — not a placeholder or "coming soon" page |
| Authorized representative | A real named contact (name, email, phone, job title) who can be reached if carriers flag something |
NORTHSIDE MEDICAL, INC. is not the same string as Northside Medical Inc as far as Twilio's automated review is concerned. Copy it directly from your EIN confirmation letter (IRS Form CP 575 or 147C) rather than retyping it from memory.
What happens after submission
Twilio's automated review typically takes anywhere from a few minutes to a few business days. You'll see the profile's status move from pending-review to either twilio-approved or twilio-rejected. Nothing else in the setup path can proceed until this is approved — Twilio also requires a second, near-identical Trust Hub bundle specifically for A2P before brand registration works, which Linxi's wizard builds automatically once this one is approved.
